What the stat tables show

Leaguepedia's champion table for TheShy covers 771 games and 63 champions through 14 October 2025. Riven is not one of them. Games of Legends' later all-time board, which adds the 2026 comeback and reaches 780 games, also has no Riven row. A zero in both places is the finding.

That is a record of logged professional games, not a claim about scrims or solo queue. If a match was played and omitted by both projects, it is not in the public game list those sites maintain.

Where the reputation comes from

Biographical accounts, including the Baidu Baike entry under Seung-lok Kang, say that on the Korean server he was known for Riven, Yasuo and Nidalee, and that a fast animation-cancel sequence on Riven was nicknamed the TheShy combo by players outside Korea. The combo is a solo-queue technique from around 2015. The nickname outlived the pick.

He joined Team WE in November 2014 as a streamer and moved to Invictus Gaming in May 2017. By the time the LPL sample that people quote was underway, his stage pool was Jayce, Fiora, Kennen, Gnar and later Aatrox and Rumble. Riven stayed in the highlight videos from the ladder.

What he plays instead

The closest stage equivalents are Fiora (12 games, 50% win rate) and Aatrox (45 games, 57.8%). Both are melee duelists. Neither is Riven, and neither depends on her animation cancels. His actual volume is on Gnar, Jayce, Rumble and Kennen.
