TheShy on Jayce: Range and the 2018 Semi
Jayce is the ranged carry top that still defines TheShy's reputation, from the 2018 Worlds semifinal through the 2026 regional final.

Sixty-three games, not a cameo
The all-time board lists 63 Jayce games, a 61.9% win rate and a 2.3 KDA. That win rate sits on his career line rather than above it. The champion is a staple, and the results track the career instead of inflating it.
Acceleration Gate into Shock Blast is the pattern fans clip. In a professional draft it is also a ranged top that lets IG play for plates and a first turret, which is why it keeps returning whenever ranged tops are legal.
The semifinal line
In game 2 of the 2018 Worlds semifinal against G2 Esports, TheShy played Jayce. Caster Remember's call from that game is usually translated as: had heaven not given birth to TheShy, the LPL top lane would have stayed in eternal night. The English line is a translation of the Chinese cast, and it stuck to the champion.
He picked Jayce again in 2026: the 2 August group win over LNG, and one game of the 19 September series against JD Gaming. The pick is still in the 2026 pool, eight years after the semifinal.
